Gulf Oil Spill: Lawyers Will Make Sure It Takes 20 Years For Gavel To Fall

Isn’t that nice BP has taken some of the blame for the Gulf oil spill, and in the same breath they pointed their fickle finger at the two contractors, Transocean and Halliburton (their partners in crime) who did the grunt work on the Deepwater Horizon.
Now the blame game begins in earnest, and with potential criminal charges and hundreds of millions of dollars in fines waiting for the guilty parties, you can bet the legal soup will be a thick broth not fit for public consumption. But that fits the clowns in this circus just fine, the more they can hide behind the slick verbiage of overpaid lawyers, the longer it will take to hang the collar of guilt on their despicable shoulders.
This will take years; such is the state of the legal system that is the mainstay of the law as practiced in the U.S. today. It’s designed by lawyers for lawyers, and a snail’s pace is what pays the ridiculous salaries of the judicial jackassery.
But have no fear, the guilty will be found, and punishment, though not of the type that you and I might envision, (long prison sentences) will arrive for the designated sacrificial lambs the executives of these corporate behemoths have probably already chosen.
Maybe the most troubling aspect about the people involved in this legal drama, is the utter disconnect they have with the public. From the attorneys to the business elite they represent, they have already turned a blind eye to the long cold stare of the populace. It’s all about cold hard cash now, and I’d be willing to bet the retainers got cashed before the fire was even out on the Deepwater Horizon.
