Terry Jones: Deacon Maybe But No Pastor

   According to the Encarta Dictionary, English (North American) a pastor is somebody who is not a minister or a priest but who gives spiritual advice to a group of people. So now that I’ve defined the meaning of the word I’m going to attempt to find a reasonable explanation for the proposed activities of Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Centre in Gainesville Florida.
   Let’s just get right to the point, his words and threatened actions are not even remotely spiritual advice. If advocating and telling his flock to burn the Quran is divine instruction than I’d like to know where he got his degree in theology. But the world’s filled with religious charlatans, and there are plenty of lambs who are willingly led by so-called preachers that twist Holy Scriptures for their own dark purposes.
   His wrong-headed approach has definitely caught the media’s attention but it does seem pretty obvious…. that was his intention from the beginning. He could have brought together his congregation gathered some Quran’s and burnt them, and nobody would have been the wiser, but that would not have garnished the attention he’s getting, so his plan has worked admirably, who knows, maybe if he survives this there might be a book deal.  Now though, he’s set himself up for a fall, to go ahead, he’ll be pushing an envelope that could very well have the type of ramifications I doubt he had counted on.
   Wisdom is not the forte of these mental midget’s, so what he will do is anybody’s guess, but don’t be surprised if you see smoke rising over the Gainesville Florida Dove World Outreach Centre on 9/11.
